Vale of White Horse, United Kingdom Open Cosmos Ltd Full time

Aim high, go beyond At Open Cosmos we are solving the world’s biggest challenges from space, providing businesses, governments and researchers access to more readily available information than ever before - ready for the challenge? Then read on… Working in our Chief Operating Office (COO) Our COO Teams are the engine that powers Open Cosmos’ operations. This division brings together mission management, supply chain, and quality & product assurance to make sure every mission is delivered smoothly, reliably, and to the highest standards. They turn plans into action, keeping us efficient and mission-ready at all times. As Facilities Manager, you’ll work closely with the COO, People Team and Engineering Teams to make sure our new Harwell site delivers missions reliably and at scale. From cleanroom management to manufacturing, safety, and infrastructure, you will ensure that our facilities run efficiently, securely, and in compliance with the highest standards. What will you be doing? Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and to specification. Oversee maintenance and building systems (electrical, HVAC, fire safety, compressed air, and utilities). Take responsibility for site security — managing external providers and maintaining access control, CCTV, and alarm systems. Ensure full compliance with UK Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, acting as site lead for audits, inspections, and incident response. Coordinate with the Office Manager to align building operations, shared spaces, and access control. Develop and manage facilities and security budgets, maintenance schedules, and service contracts. Work hands‑on when needed, applying your technical and electrical expertise to keep systems running smoothly. Additionally as we set up this new facility you will also be involved in the fit‑out and commissioning of the new premises, including cleanrooms, labs, and office areas. What You’ll bring Proven experience in facilities management, ideally in a technical, manufacturing, or aerospace environment. Electrical qualification and confidence working with building systems. Experience managing fit‑out or refurbishment projects from design to completion. Strong knowledge of cleanroom operation, ESD control, and contamination prevention. Familiarity with UK HSE and security standards, and contractor management. Excellent organisational and communication skills — with the ability to juggle priorities in a fast‑paced, scaling business. A hands‑on, problem‑solving approach and a strong sense of ownership for the facilities you manage. This role will be based onsite at our premises in Harwell, Oxfordshire. To apply, you must have the legal right to work in this location. Why Open Cosmos? Work at the cutting edge of space technology with customers around the globe. A mission-driven company making space accessible to help solve real‑world challenges. A diverse, ambitious, and supportive team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
