Sterile Services Technician

Join our dedicated Sterile Services team at Practice Plus Group and play a vital role in ensuring patient safety and excellent clinical outcomes. As our Sterile Services Technician, youll be supporting the provision of a safe and effective decontamination and sterile supplies service to departments across the hospital. Every instrument you prepare will contribute to delivering the highest quality care for our patients.This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours a weekThe role requires you to have Hepatitis B and TB vaccinations.Main duties of the jobAs our Sterile Services Technician, you will be:Cleaning, checking, assembling, packing, sterilising, and distributing medical devices in line with strict infection control and safety protocols.Ensuring all instruments are fit for purpose prior to patient use.Monitoring sterilisation and washer-disinfector equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.Performing daily validation tests and keeping accurate traceability records.Carrying out quality checks for cleanliness and completeness before distribution.Working collaboratively with colleagues across clinical departments.Using PPE at all times and maintaining a safe, clean working environment.Supporting the orientation and training of new staff when required.About usWith your experience working as a technician in a sterile services department or within a healthcare setting, you will also have:Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritise tasks under pressure, and adapt to change effectively.Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational and communication skills.Good written and verbal communication skillsCommitment to personal development and high standards of patient safety.Hepatitis B and TB vaccinationIDSc Membership, NVQ Level 3 in Decontamination or TVQ 1&2 in Decontamination - desirableWhat you can expect in return;A salary of £23,809.50 per annumAn extensive range of wellbeing and lifestyle benefits25 days annual leave (increasing with service) plus bank holidaysThe support you need to grow in your role, if desiredTo apply for the role, click on the link below.
