Job Summary University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is pleased to offer an exciting role of a clinical fellow within the Complications-related Excess Weight (CEW) service which is a NHS England funded Tier 3 Paediatric Obesity service. The post (0.6 WTE) involves working within the NHS England commissioned multidisciplinary (MDT) service for children and young people with complications related to excess weight. The East Midlands CEW MDT comprises of 3 Consultants, dietitian, physiotherapist, physio technical instructor, Clinical support workers clinical Psychologist, Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Social worker. This post will be based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, which is one of the CEW MDT sites in the East Midlands with some cross site working. The post holder will also be encouraged and supported to be involved in clinical projects and research activities. Main Duties Actively engage and take part in the MDT CEW clinics at Leicester. Involve in virtual MDT meetings with the Spoke centres. Take clinical queries, offer appropriate advice, develop clinical pathways. Engage in clinical/QI projects, data collection and analysis. Participate in governance activities such as audit, quality improvement project or guideline development. Engage in clinical research projects and systematic reviews. Strengthen experience in clinical Endocrinology and Diabetes. Participate in and contribute to department teaching. Person Specification Qualifications Essential – MB BS or Equivalent, Full GMC Registration, MRCPCH Equivalent. Qualifications Desirable – Subspecialty Training in Paediatric Diabetes/Endocrinology. Experience Essential – Core general paediatric competence at Registrar level. Experience Desirable – Minimum 1 year NHS experience. Communication & Relationship Skills Essential – Personal integrity and reliability, willingness to learn new skills, ability to motivate and develop both medical staff and non‑medical staff. Communication & Relationship Skills Desirable – Commitment to further develop the post and the service provided. Analytical and Judgement Skills Essential – Knowledge of audit & basic principles of research. Analytical and Judgement Skills Desirable – Publications & research experience.
