Bank Tiverton Urgent Treatment Centre Sessional Doctor The closing date is 15 December 2025 The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) is looking for additional doctors to work as part of the multidisciplinary team (HCAs, Nurses, Paramedics, Non-Medical Prescribers) at our Tiverton Urgent Treatment Centre. The UTC sees a variety of injuries and illnesses in all age groups, and offers on-site x-ray and point of care testing. We aim to provide care closer to home and relieve pressure on the urgent and emergency care system. Main duties of the job Key aspects of the role will include: Providing face to face consultations directly with patients, relatives and/or their carers Providing patient centred care Using point of care diagnostics to support decision making Undertaking appropriate prescribing Provide onward referral of patients if appropriate Working as part of our clinical team to provide primary care support Supporting other clinicians in the unit with clinical advice. If you would like a copy of the Job Description please email Nick.Chown@swast.nhs.uk Person Specification Full registration with the General Medical Council on the General Practitioner list or Specialist list (Emergency Medicine) Clinical experience of primary healthcare in the diagnostic light setting Being skilled at managing clinical risk Demonstrate clear ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team Being competent in basic ECG interpretation and musculoskeletal X-ray interpretation Experience of emergency medicine or ambulatory care Experience in more advanced x-ray interpretation (MSK, CXR) Experience in manipulation and reduction of joint dislocations/fractures Experience of minor surgery including ring blocks, wound closure and suturing Advanced life support or intermediate life support Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
