Teacher of English (St Mary’s, as part of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust) About the role St Mary’s School, a ‘Good’ special school in Horam, is part of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust. The school provides a warm, caring environment for pupils with diverse social, emotional and mental health needs, all of whom have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). This full‑time, permanent post offers 32.5 hours of work per week for 52 weeks a year. Key Responsibilities Plan, develop, and deliver engaging English lessons that meet the needs of pupils with complex learning needs. Adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with SEN and provide TLR2a and SEN additional allowances. Collaborate with staff to monitor pupil progress, set learning goals, and contribute to the personalised curriculum. Support the school’s safeguarding and welfare policies, ensuring a safe learning environment for all children. Qualifications & Experience Qualified teacher of English for primary education, holding a recognised teaching qualification. Experience working with learners with complex needs is desirable but not essential. Demonstrated ability to deliver an innovative, exciting curriculum and sensitivity to the needs of pupils. Strong organisational skills, resilience, and a commitment to raising standards in English. The role is located in East Sussex, England. All staff must hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
