Islay Centre The Islay Centre offers assessment and treatment for individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism who display complex or high‑risk behaviours. Using a multidisciplinary team – including psychiatry, psychology, art therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and pharmacy – the centre provides trauma‑informed, positive behavioural support. Its goal is to enhance quality of life, promote community inclusion, and reduce the use of restrictive practices. It delivers high‑quality, evidence‑based care, supports professional development and participates in the Royal College of Psychiatry’s inpatient accreditation process to maintain continuous service improvement.
