Night Ambulance Crew – Co‑op We’re looking for people to join the Co‑op Funeralcare team as Night Ambulance Crew. You don’t need experience—just a genuine desire to help people at the time they need it most. We’ll provide training and support so you can develop the skills required. Base pay range Night Ambulance Crew: £25,605 (£12.79 per hour) plus shift premium and benefits. Full‑time, 38.5 hours per week, 4‑on 4‑off shifts covering Monday to Sunday 8 pm–8 am. Reading RG30 1EA. You’ll need a full manual UK driver’s licence. The role is mobile; you’ll use Co‑op’s vehicles to collect and transport the deceased during night hours, supporting our 24‑7 operation. What you’ll do Collect the deceased during the night from a range of locations and scenarios, in a professional, empathetic and dignified manner. Carry out support activities at the funeral home, including the care and preparation of the deceased. Work closely with the wider team to ensure a clear hand‑over for daytime colleagues. Update and maintain records, on both written and digital platforms, in line with processes and regulation. Report to the Care Logistics Manager and carry out any additional requests as instructed. Requirements Flexibility to work night shifts. Full UK manual driving licence. Ability to act promptly but in a measured and considered way. Ability to take instructions and follow them to the letter, with a high attention to detail. A calm approach in sometimes distressing situations and the ability to think on your feet. Capability to carry out duties involving manual lifting. Benefits £25,605 base salary plus shift premium.
