Pets in Home : One very friendly cat Recruiter Contact : Janet About the Client Meet Sophia, 12 years old and truly the star of the show She’s a very special young girl who lives with her mum, and older brother, whom she absolutely adores. Sophia thrives on upbeat, funny interactions; slapstick humour has her in hysterics, and singing songs related to everyday activities like brushing her hair or teeth brings her real joy. One of Sophia’s favourite things is messy play, whether it’s slime, foam, or water, the messier the better She also enjoys quieter moments, especially watching one of her top five all-time favourite films. Sophia is a wheelchair user and loves going on buses and trains for appointments or short trips out and about. She sustained an Acquired Brain Injury at birth, which presents as Cerebral Palsy, global developmental delay, and epilepsy. She is non-verbal and receives all feeds and medication via her PEG. Sophia communicates in her own unique way. If asked the right questions, she will look at you for “yes” and look away for “no.” Her signs of discomfort or sadness can be subtle, but as her support team builds trust and connection with her, these cues become easier to recognise. She is also beginning to use an Eye Gaze device to support her communication. The Role at a Glance The Care Team Leader will lead a small team and work closely with Sophia’s active Physio and case management team. Responsibilities include coordinating and following care plans, overseeing training, supervising staff, conducting appraisals and supervisions, and organising rotas. The shift times above are the hours you will work on a 2 : 1 basis with Sophia, once school transport picks Sopha up the admin hours are carried out on site (open plan area with desk) spread over the 3 days. More detailed information about this is available on application. There is a comprehensive care plan regarding afterschool activities, therapies and Sophia’s sleep hygiene. Sophia has her own fully adapted room / wet room downstairs.
