You should be able to set, programme, and operate gear and spline cutting equipment. ResponsibilitiesSetting, programming, and operating gear cutting machineryUnderstanding gear nomenclature and measurement techniquesControlling machines and processesUsing a wide range of measuring equipment to check componentsWorking to tight tolerances without supervisionWriting and interpreting instructions and procedures to assemble equipment and products accuratelyObtaining relevant information from sourcesPerforming inspections of equipment, structures, materials, and productsAnalyzing information and finding the best solutions to problems RequirementsA recognised Mechanical Engineering qualificationExperience with TOS gear hobbing machines, Churchill, Liebherr, Barber Colman, Pfauter CNC gear cutters (Siemens 840 control), Pfauter CNC gear tooth grinders (Siemens 840 control), Magg gear tooth grinders (CNC, manual, or semi-automatic) is advantageousAbility to read and understand engineering drawingsProficiency with test and precision measuring equipment, and hand tools such as micrometer and Vernier caliperMinimum 1-year experience in relevant rail or automotive industryPractical mechanical orientationGood problem-solving skillsSelf-motivatedRecognised engineering qualification required If you don’t have all the above criteria, we would still like to hear from you as we live our values, always put people first, and strive to expand what is possible.
