Senior Rotational Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary We are recruiting for a Senior Rotational Pharmacy Technician who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. This role could be ideal for newly qualified accuracy checking technicians who want to work in a busy and dynamic hospital pharmacy. Applicants with a retail pharmacy background are welcome to apply, as on‑the‑job training will be provided for all aspects of the role. Any new qualified technicians without an Accuracy Checking qualification or NVQ3 will be considered for this post and a Band 4 to Band 5 developmental plan will be offered. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day activities within the pharmacy department at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre Pharmacy, including general dispensing, drug distribution, chemotherapy desk, patient counselling and associated pharmaceutical duties. Main Duties Dispensing and checking of in‑patient prescriptions and systemic anti‑cancer treatment. Providing routine technical pharmacy support in a professional manner to support a high‑quality, patient‑orientated service. Participating in the purchasing of drugs and drug distribution activities. Running the Chemotherapy desk and dispatching chemotherapy orders to wards and day units in a timely manner. Stock control activities such as expiry date checking, stock counting and replenishing the emergency cupboard, fulfilling to‑follows, conducting expiry date checks and replenishing emergency boxes as required.
