Workshop Controller/ Workshop Manager

The Workshop Controller role is one of the busiest and most important roles within the dealership and consists of assigning work to Vehicle Technicians to ensure the smooth running of the workshop.

The role will involve ensuring all incoming work is planned as well as managing the time and resources of your team. Most of the mechanical work will be in-house vehicles that are sold and need to be prepped to the highest standard ready for customer collections. You will assign a team of Technicians to tasks, ensuring productivity is maximised and that deadlines are adhered to at all times. It is essential that you have previous experience of working within the Motor Trade, in the Workshop or Senior Technician background. Awareness of warranty guidelines, service intervals, etc are a must.

What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Keeping the workshop organised, efficient, and running like a well-oiled machine.
  2. Dealing with any in-house warranty work.
  3. Liaising with the sales team daily to ensure all sold vehicles are ready for collection.
  4. Allocating jobs to the team and ensuring they're completed to a high standard.
  5. Supporting both the front of house, control room and the workshop team.
  6. Keeping customers in the loop with honest, clear communication.
  7. Maintaining productivity and performance in a team of seven talented technicians.
  8. Leading by example— demonstrating pride in your work and keeping morale high.
  9. Ensuring servicing, diagnostics and repairs meet the highest standards, keeping customers coming back time and time again.
