About The Role Grade Level (for internal use): 12 The Role: Associate Director - Financial Accounting This role supports the EMEA Controllers organization with UK and other jurisdictions managed out of the London office, to ensure that the accounting operations are timely and accurately reported and that local statutory and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) requirements are adhered to, in addition to supporting enterprise-wide initiatives. The Team Reporting to the Assistant EMEA Controller, you are part of the EMEA Enterprise Controllership Leadership team, which is a team of 30+, responsible for managing the accounting operations in the region and supporting the Company’s accounting and finance activities. The global Controllers organisation is a team of 300+ globally. The Impact This position supports the EMEA Controllers team locally to ensure internal and external reporting is reported timely and in compliance with IFRS or other local statutory requirements. This position also supports the EMEA Controller in partnering locally with business and operations to ensure that governance and internal controls are adhered to, driving operational excellence. Responsibilities Responsibility for month end processes, including the preparation & posting of journals, preparation/review of balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of management accountsAnalysis/interrogation of key balance sheet & P&L accounts, with preparation and posting of any associated journalsPreparation of financial statements for legal entities in accordance with IFRS and UK GAAPLiaising and interacting with external auditors pursuant to the timely completion of statutory audits carried out on legal entities.Ensuring timely submission of financial/non-financial information to local authoritiesSupport with preparation of tax returns and associated accounting workflows, including processing of payment and balance sheet reconciliation of related accountsSupport with preparation of VAT returns and associated accounting workflows, including processing of payment and balance sheet reconciliation of related accountsSupport with merger, acquisition & disposal projects and legal entity restructuring projects impacting the regionTo support on process improvement projects, identifying and implementing best practice processes across the region What We’re Looking For Basic Required Qualifications 8-10 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in Public Accounting, including a thorough understanding of IFRS and accounting standards generally accepted in the United States (US GAAP)Strong problem-solving abilityGood interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsWell organized and able to prioritize conflicting deadlinesAttention to detailStrong desire to exceed expectationsResults orientated Additional Preferred Qualifications ACA / CPA / CA(SA) or equivalent certificationBachelor’s Degree in Public Accounting, Accounting, Finance or equivalentGood understanding general tax accounting and local tax regimesExperience of financial statement preparation under IFRS and US GAAPSystem experienced in Oracle, Workiva, Alteryx and SmartsheetProficient in Microsoft ExcelAmenable for Hybrid work setupWork shift: London Standard Hours What’s In It For You?
