Position Domestic Assistant Banding 2 Roster Monday – Sunday (includes public holidays such as Christmas/New Year; holidays will be allocated in advance by your Supervisor/Line Manager) Contracted Hours 30.0 hrs Shift Times 12:30 – 19:00 Locality Perth & Kinross Site Murray Royal Hospital Duties Domestic Services Department are recruiting for Domestic Assistants to undertake cleaning responsibilities across Perth & Kinross locality in order to deliver the highest standard of cleanliness within the healthcare settings. This includes wards, side rooms, theatres, offices, health centres, GP practices and other areas. Key Requirements Work as part of a team or on your own initiative, including lone working. Possess good verbal and written communication skills and be able to listen and convey information effectively. Respond constructively to unpredictable situations and cope under pressure. Complete Domestic-related paperwork. Aware of basic Health & Safety and Infection Control issues associated with the role. Carry out tasks methodically. Follow instructions. Carry out mandatory training, both online and face-to-face. Undertake a range of duties in a safe and competent manner, including walking and standing for most of the shift, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling and lifting, using appropriate aids. Cope working in busy clinical and non-clinical environments, including areas with increased heat, secure units, and areas with distressed patients. Work in environments that may be classed as infected. Understand the importance of maintaining and observing confidentiality. Learn and adapt. All Domestic Assistants are required to work throughout NHS Tayside at various sites/areas should there be a requirement to do so. Additional Requirements Complete the Health Care Support Workers Workbook to ensure competency in your role and comply with the Code of Conduct throughout employment.
