OverviewAt Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Mechanical Fitter at our HMNB Faslane site.The roleAs a Mechanical Fitter, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will undertake mechanical fitting activities, repairs and inspections on systems and equipment on all aspects of work completed within the estate and, when required, in other sections.Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for the completion of all planned preventative maintenance to ensure the department meets the objectives of the business.Identification and rectification of all system, manufacture, defects and alterations.Ensure that work is carried out in line with current processes and make suggestions on improving systems and processes to increase productivity in accordance with set objectives and timescales.Work within all H&S legislation, Safe Systems Of Work and control of work processes within BM&T Clyde policies.Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods.This role is full time, 36 hours per week, Monday – Thursday with a 3 day weekend and is based on site at HMNB Faslane.Essential experienceMechanical fitting working experienceExperience and knowledge of mechanical systems and equipmentExperience with interpretating engineering drawingsKnowledge and experience of pressure systemsQualificationsNVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a Mechanical discipline is essential.Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
