Band 5 Registered Nurse – Surgical Nursing Team – Royal Alexandra Hospital We are part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff. We provide acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million, and 2.2 million when regional and national services are included. Shift pattern: Days / Nights / Weekends. Part‑time hours are pro‑rated. Applications from 2025 newly qualified nurse/midwife will not be considered. A live NMC UK pin is required. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiast at band 5 to join our passionate and dedicated surgical nursing team. You will be based in ward 24, a 30‑bed ward within the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Responsibilities: Assessment, delivery and supervision of all care needs within the ward environment. Sound clinical skills for assessment of patient needs, implementation and evaluation of evidence‑based care. Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment to a high clinical standard. Develop care programmes and evaluate outcomes as part of a multidisciplinary team. Work on own initiative without direct supervision and as part of an integrated team. Work flexible shift pattern of day, night and weekend rotations. Qualifications and expectations: Excellent communication skills and decision‑making. Evidence of ongoing professional development.
