The emphasis within the service is on preparing individuals for discharge or to support with longer term optimal functioning.Cygnet Lodge Brighouse can support up to 21 men in a relaxed, calm and homely environment. The focus is on helping individuals increase their independence wherever possible through work and education, as well as social and leisure facilities, offering a slower stream rehabilitation service where needed.The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required and will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines.In this role, your expertise will be the driving force for life-changing treatment fully supported by a Specialty Doctor and first-class multidisciplinary team including qualified nurses, psychologist and occupational therapist.And youll have the opportunity to progress to Medical Director Level through our management schemes.At Cygnet, youll enjoy excellent professional development, shopping, travel and leisure discounts as well as a range of healthcare and financial benefits to support you to be happy both in and out of work.Apply now to enjoy excellent career prospects whilereaping the rewards of making a difference to others every day.Main duties and ResponsibilitiesLead on the provision of high quality care to the service users admitted to Cygnet Lodge BrighouseAct as a positive role model, maintaining and demonstrating a positive attitude towards patients, their families, visitors and other staff.Take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary teamAssess referrals & undertake mental state examinations of service usersUndertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis & treatmentConduct ward rounds, patient reviews & clinical auditsLead the implementation of risk assessment, risk management & embed clinical governance within the serviceSupervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals & managers hearings & attend hearingsLiaise with the Ministry of Justice for transfer of patients and approval of leave as requiredGood maintenance of patient recordsTo ensure and maintain regular communications with the Site Medical Director and Hospital ManagerTo communicate effectively through regular contact with patients, relatives, staff, directors, and any other concerned bodies; maintaining appropriate reports.Attend and contribute to academic meetings and adhere to the professional standards for CPD as set out by the GMC, the Department of Health and the Royal College of Psychiatrists.Contribute to the Telephone On call rota dependent on the needs of the regionWhy Cygnet?
