Temporary Part-Qualified Accountant – Shared Service – Four Ashes, England, United Kingdom Base pay range: Pay will be based on skills and experience – discuss with the recruiter for details. Job Description SI Group, a leading chemical manufacturing company, is looking for a part‑qualified accountant to deliver transactional financial support within our EMEA Shared Services team. The role is a 6‑month fixed‑term temporary position based at the Four Ashes site. Role You will support in‑country and plant controllers, ensuring accurate and compliant accounting for the UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, and Belgium. Key activities include the monthly close cycle, financial and statutory reporting, and the preparation of account reconciliations. Responsibilities Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and master data. Execute monthly closing steps – plant settlements, accruals, depreciation. Prepare and post journals with appropriate authorization and supporting documentation. Prepare capital expenditure reports and support Global Capex and Inventory Controller activities. Perform GRIR reclassifications and reconciliations. Produce and distribute weekly production variance reports and monthly financial reports. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations using Blackline, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Coordinate timely research and resolution of reconciliation issues. Support financial and statutory reporting requirements and policy compliance. Assist with audit requests and provide necessary documentation. Collaborate effectively with in‑country controllers, plant controllers, and Shared Services team members. Perform other duties and projects as assigned, including any additional shared site accounting responsibilities. Qualifications & Requirements Part‑qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA) minimum. Strong analytical and presentation skills. Experience using SAP (essential). International accounting knowledge and understanding of financial reporting and analysis. Experience in a manufacturing organisation (desired). Experience with integrated, computerised accounting systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present financial information clearly. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
