Multi:Skilled Engineer (Electrically Biased) Join TipTopJob on the role of Multi:Skilled Engineer (Electrically Biased). Location: Harlow, Essex Salary: £53,000 – £55,000 Working hours: Monday – Friday, 6:00 – 2:15 pm / 2:00 – 10:15 pm Benefits: Overtime available + bonus Matched private pension scheme 25 days holiday + bank holidays Medicash healthcare plan Role and responsibilities: Carry out electrical and mechanical fault‑finding and repairs on high‑speed food production lines, packaging machinery, automation/control systems and associated equipment. Work closely with the engineering manager to create new SOPs, PPM plans and schedules for newly installed production lines and packaging machinery. Monitor production line efficiencies, suggest improvements and monitor real‑time data (self‑starter role). Blend hands‑on maintenance and repair with improvement activities. Install and commission new machinery and production lines. Contribute to continuous improvement projects, including factory acceptance testing. Knowledge, skills and experience: Must be a multi‑skilled engineer with electrical bias. Comfortable with hands‑on work, machine condition monitoring, asset care management and project work. Experience in project‑based roles involving improvement suggestions, SOP creation, and PPMs. Experience in food manufacturing. Strong electrical fault‑finding and repair skills. NVQ Level 3 / ONC / HNC in Engineering. Knowledge of creating new PPM plans and schedules. PLC electrical fault‑finding experience. Use of SAP beneficial. Ideally completed a time‑served apprenticeship. Strong communicator, working closely with engineering management, production teams, and quality. Able to work independently and think on own initiative. Flexible and approachable regarding new machinery and working hours.
