Semi-Senior Accountant - Growing accounting firmNorthampton£28,000 to £30,000 Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be partnering with a reputable and expanding accountancy firm based in Northamptonshire, in their search for a Semi-Senior Accountant to support the Director with a portfolio of clients who receive outsourced accounting services. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and detail-oriented individual seeking to progress their accounting career. You will work as part of a growing and collaborative team, ensuring clients receive a high level of service while developing your own technical and professional skills within practice. Key Responsibilities Assist with the preparation of monthly accounts, payroll, and VAT returns for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. Support the preparation of management accounts and other ad hoc reports as required by clients. Assist with bookkeeping and client financial record keeping, increasingly through cloud-based software. Provide administrative support and help ensure the smooth running of client workflows. Visit clients on-site as required. With training, assist in preparing year-end working papers and accounts from client records. Contribute to providing excellent client service and timely completion of work. Key Requirements Experience in an accountancy practice environment. AAT Level 4 qualified or near completion (ACCA/CIMA part-qualified also welcome). Competent using accounting packages such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero. Strong Microsoft Excel and Google Suite skills. An interest or background in the agricultural/rural or sustainability sector is desirable but not essential. Strong academic background (minimum B grade or equivalent in Maths and English). Organised, proactive, and eager to grow in a client-facing accounting role.
