Job CategoryFacilities & Environment CleaningLocationRaglan Depot, Raglan, Monmouthshire, NP152ER, United KingdomOrganisationMonmouthshire County CouncilHours per week20Start dateImmediate startSalary£12.65 per hourPurposeTo provide a professional cleaning service for libraries, museums, administrative buildings, public conveniences and schools within the county of Monmouthshire.Role PurposeTo ensure that the building is maintained to a high level of hygiene and cleanliness.Expectations and OutcomesTo ensure the maintenance of a hygienic, functional environment that facilitates the effective conduct of Council Business.ResponsibilitiesComplete cleaning tasks: washing floors and walls, sweeping, emptying litter bins, polishing and dusting.Undertake the cleaning of sanitary areas.Safely operate vacuum cleaners and polishing/scrubbing machines.Ensure that adequate stock of cleaning materials are maintained.Report all faults of cleaning equipment to the supervisor.Ensure the correct use of chemicals at all times.Work as a member of Monmouthshire’s Facilities Unit at any site.Undertake any necessary training for the post.Qualifications and Key AttributesPrevious cleaning/hygiene experience.Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.Flexibility and versatility to work under pressure and meet required standards.Ability to work as part of a team.Ability to ensure the safety of themselves and others at all times.Willingness to follow all Monmouthshire Facilities Unit procedures, policies and apply appropriately.Willingness to undertake and put into practise Health and safety procedures to comply with legislation.Willingness to abide by the council’s Equal Opportunities Policy including undertaking appropriate equality awareness training.Willingness to undertake any training appropriate to the post as and when appropriate.DesirableWelsh language skills.TrainingYou may be required to learn or improve your existing skills through attending staff Welsh language training funded by the council if a need for Welsh language skills in the role arises. #J-18808-Ljbffr
