Utility Technician

Utility Technician / Shipping & Receiving Join to apply for the Utility Technician / Shipping & Receiving role at Sherwin-Williams. Base pay range $24.64/hr - $24.64/hr This position is responsible for minor raw material weighing and staging, glue production, and operation of the tank farm including offloading rail cars and trucks into the tank farm. Operators are expected to work with supervisors and reactor operators to complete tasks in an organized and safe manner. Day Shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm. Eligible for bonus based on performance subject to the Company’s applicable plans. Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value. This access may be supervised or unsupervised. Responsibilities Advocate and practice the principals of the Safety program Participate in plant safety committee meetings and activities Reporting unsafe conditions Assists with maintaining a clean and safe working environment and may perform various janitorial or housekeeping tasks. Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; requires the employee to wear safety equipment or gear. Understand the use and function of all equipment/processing tools to manufacture our products. Follow batch instructions to prepare raw materials needed for batches including weighing and mixing. Assist with inventory of raw materials. Stock and organize raw material racks and storage locations daily. Organize and perform general upkeep of Load Back and Scale areas, Hot Room, Receiving Dock Ramp and all raw material areas. Unloading and loading raw material trucks, railcars, tank wagons, etc. Clean and dispose of empty containers in the proper manner as stipulated by Sherwin Williams/EPS. Assist other Reactor Operators in starting batches and help with clean up. Complete computer and paperwork involved with in the manufacturing process daily. Perform all shipping and receiving duties. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future Must have one (1) year experience working in a manufacturing or distribution facility Must have two (2) years experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Have at least two (2) years of work experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility or in an operations environment Have at least two (2) years of work experience monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating mobile power equipment such as lift trucks, tow motors or pallet handling equipment, order pickers, high lifts, forklifts, or cherry pickers About Us At Sherwin-Williams, our purpose is to inspire and improve the world by coloring and protecting what matters.
