Specialty Doctor - Home Treatment & Rapid Response Team Posted 09 December 2025. 8.5PA post. Part‑time. Permanent. Grade Specialty Doctor. Pay £61,542 to £99,216 per annum pro rata. Job Summary Opportunity to join the Home Treatment and Rapid Response Team of Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust. Applicants must be fully registered with GMC and hold or be working toward MHA Section 12(2) approval. The role involves home visits, clinical assessment, liaison with agencies, and collaboration with inpatient teams. Main duties of the job Attend morning MDT meetings, conduct home visits, prescribe for patients under the team, liaison with GPs and Social Services, provide medical advice, maintain accurate clinical record keeping. Work jointly with specialist services such as EIP and MIMHs. Rapid Response duties: reviews including gate‑keeping assessments, new referral assessments and mental health assessments where needed. Active involvement in clinical reviews, meetings, Section 117 planning meetings as required. Collaborate with inpatient consultant and MDT in assessment, treatment and management of psychiatric inpatients, providing in‑reach with aim of discharge into the community. Person Specification Essential MBBS or equivalent medical qualification. Fully registered with GMC with licence to practise. At least 4 years postgraduate experience, including 2 years core psychiatry training. Good knowledge of the specialty, clinical skills and communication, and a bio‑psycho‑social perspective. Positive appraisal history and commitment to revalidation. Good standing with GMC with respect to warnings/conditions. Hold a valid UK driving licence or provide alternative evidence. In S12 approval or working toward it within 6 months. Desirable MRCPsych or a specialist qualification from an EU country complying with the 2005/36/EU directive. Postgraduate experience in the specialty. Ability to deliver teaching, research or service evaluation. Commitment to quality improvement or lean methodology. Ability to deputise for a consultant psychiatrist and knowledge of NHS/Trust structure. Good IT skills with electronic records. Eligibility & Requirements Disclosure and Barring Service check (Rehabilitation of Offenders Act). Certificate of sponsorship available for skilled workers needing a visa.
