Building Control Officer

We are looking for a Building Control Officer to join the Building Control team at West Northamptonshire Council. The role reports to the Principal Building Control Officer and is supported by the Team Leader - Building Control. Location: Banbury (Primary office base) with primary responsibility for site visits. Please note: we reserve the right to close this vacancy early. Key responsibilities Conduct site inspections, plan vetting/approval and supervise building work related to Building Regulations and allied legislation. Provide professional Building Control services and maintain WNC Building Control’s reputation for excellent service. Assist with related duties as assigned by the team and senior management. About you Highly motivated, detail-oriented and an excellent communicator, both verbal and written. Methodical and able to work independently on site. Knowledge of the internal computer administration system (DEF) is preferred. Benefits Generous annual leave entitlement starting at 28 days per year (29 days for senior managers), plus bank holidays.
