Job Overview Join to apply for the relief Security Officer role at Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services. Responsibilities Relief officer required to cover Ayrshire and surrounding areas. Protect customers’ property, people and assets by providing security services in line with the site’s published Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and any subsequent changes. Deliver results that meet or exceed the key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer, providing a service that aids in contract retention. Maintain full responsibility and accountability for on‑site duties. Ensure compliance with all policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies. Fully complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions. Proactively review the Assignment Instructions, familiarise with any changes and suggest amendments that improve service quality. Be compliant with industry and statutory legislation, including holding a front‑line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision, and a CCTV PSS SIA licence, and renew them 16 weeks before expiry. Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority. Work systematically, methodically and in an orderly manner. Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development. Look out for and immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site. Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage. Use common sense and initiative, immediately involving others if a situation appears threatening. Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers. Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process. Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client. Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions. Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents. Qualifications Previous security experience. Relief officers must have access to their own transport.
