Manchester University Hospital Foundation (MFT) is located in the heart of the vibrant city of Manchester, which was named the best UK city to live in The Economist’s ‘Global Liveability Index’ 2018. It is an exciting time to join our team, with the implementation of a new PACS system due to take place in the near future, as well as a wide scale equipment replacement programme. The post is based on the Trafford site and includes training and rotation through general X‑ray, theatre and mobile imaging, fluoroscopy and CT (full-time post only) as well as to Altrincham and CT service on the Withington Community Hospital site (full-time post only). Candidates should have at least 18 months of radiographic experience. MFT is a busy teaching hospital as well as a Major Trauma centre with around 145,000 patients visiting our Emergency department each year. The Radiology department is evolving all the time. It is a small and friendly facility that offers you the chance to develop skills in all areas of general radiography with particularly good rotation as a general radiographer into CT, as well as excellent opportunities to progress into specialist areas. We currently have 5 general rooms (2 are at AGH), 2 CT scanners (1 Phillips and 1 Siemens) and 2 MR scanners (Siemens). Qualifications Have a BSc Radiography or DCR with at least 18 months post‑qualification experience as a clinical radiographer Be HCPC Registered Have excellent communication skills Be organised and able to prioritise workload Be flexible Responsibilities Receive a comprehensive induction and training in all areas Receive annual appraisals Receive enhanced remuneration for night duties Full rotation into CT (full‑time post only) with cannulation skills Take on a senior role within the Department, supervising junior staff and students Please be aware you need to be able to attend in person for interview due to practical element.
