At Egis, we prioritise our people, and to enhance our Water capabilities, we are looking to recruit a skilled Water Senior Quantity Surveyor to operate as part of the Energy and Sustainable Cities Business Line. This period marks an exhilarating time to join Egis’s new Project, Programme, PMO and Commercial Management Capability (“P3M CM”) UK, Ireland and Europe team, which is undergoing a transformative phase. About the Role Are you a skilled Quantity Surveyor looking to elevate your career through meaningful infrastructure delivery? Egis UK is seeking Quantity Surveyors to join our expanding team, supporting major capital programmes for water companies and the Environment Agency—primarily in the Midlands, with consultancy opportunities in the North West. This role offers a clear path for progression across sectors, including defence and nuclear. Your Role & Contribution Reporting to the Water Cost and Commercial Lead, you’ll play a key role in the commercial management of infrastructure projects. From feasibility to final account, you’ll apply your knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts, procurement, and stakeholder engagement to ensure value, compliance, and delivery excellence. You’ll also support senior leadership on strategic bids, contributing commercial insight and helping shape proposals that reflect Egis’s capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Contract & Commercial Management Administer NEC3/4 ECC contracts (Options A, C & E) on the client sideSupport budget control, payment valuations, and cost forecastingMaintain accurate commercial records and resolve contractual issuesCollaborate with Project Managers on payment certification and defined cost determination Pre‑Contract Activities Conduct feasibility studies and cost planningAssist in preparing and evaluating tender documentationIdentify risks and contribute to mitigation strategies Post‑Contract Delivery Support contract administration and ensure compliance with termsMonitor costs, assist in negotiating variations, and support claims resolutionContribute to final account preparation and post‑project evaluation Bid & Business Development Support Work with senior leadership to support bid development and proposal strategyProvide commercial input and cost data to strengthen submissionsHelp maintain a database of lessons learned, bid outcomes, and client insightsContribute to continuous improvement across commercial and bidding processes What do we need from you Degree in Quantity Surveying (Bachelor’s or Master’s)Progress toward RICS chartership or equivalent professional developmentExperience in water, environment, defence, or nuclear sectorsFamiliarity with CDM regulations and risk managementNEC3/4 contract expertise (Options A, C, E essential)Exposure to ECI/ESI in design & build programmesValid CSCS card; Water Hygiene Card desirableLine management experience and ability to mentor junior QSsRight to work in the UK; this role is subject to client interview and acceptance What’s in it for you?
