Science Intervention Teacher Science intervention teacher – MPS6 fixed rate, £35.8490 /hour. Casual, annualised hours contract. Required as soon as possible for one year from start. Contract of 100 hours minimum each year – extra casual hours available to suit throughout the school year. Overview The Woodlands EHN Team are seeking to recruit qualified Science intervention teachers to educate pupils who are medically too unwell to attend school. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people and their families by supporting a child’s education until they are well enough to reintegrate to their school. Key Responsibilities Deliver teaching in Science, PHSE, and an option subject. Teach to a creative curriculum and support pupils’ progress. Travel across all of County Durham to schools, family homes, and EHN bases. Communicate effectively in spoken and written English with pupils, parents, and staff. Qualifications and Personal Attributes Skilled and effective teacher with enthusiasm and drive. Committed to working alongside a supportive and dynamic team to raise standards and achievement. Experience of delivering a creative curriculum. High expectations in all areas of school life. Excellent communication skills. Well organised, highly motivated and flexible when working independently or as part of a team. Travel and Working Hours Post holder will travel across all of County Durham. Teaching may take place in the family home, a Durham County building (e.g. One Point, library), an EHN Base (Sacriston or Leadgate), or a mainstream/specialist school in County Durham.
