Maintenance Technician – MechanicalClosing date: 18 December 2025.The Maintenance department at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a professional and highly motivated Maintenance Technician – Mechanical to join a busy and dynamic team. The role requires prioritising workloads, identifying improvements to operational systems and management processes to increase departmental efficiencies.The position is Monday to Friday (08:00 – 16:00) with an on‑call rota across all operational sites.Responsibilitiescarry out day‑to‑day mechanical repairs, planned maintenance and improvements to the Trust’s buildings in conformance with statutory regulations and codes of practiceinstall mechanical new workwork as part of a multi‑skilled, multi‑disciplinary maintenance teamparticipate in the emergency on‑call rota as required by contractual obligation to ensure safe systems and service continuityanalyse faults and undertake rectifications to ensure continuity of servicemaintain a professional appearance in line with the Trust dress code and uphold the Trust’s values and equality and diversity principlesQualifications (Essential)completed and passed a 4‑year apprenticeship, City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3mechanical/plumbing training for electricians or electrical training for mechanicalbasic electrical knowledgea National Qualification Framework (NQF) achievement to level 3 or above (e.g. City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent)full UK driving licenceQualifications (Desirable)continuing training to latest Electrical Regulationscompetent person Medical Gas authorisationlegionella responsible person training for mechanical techniciansexperience in building services maintenance with a demonstrable track record of competenceexperience in a large acute hospitalknowledge and appreciation of building maintenance issuesknowledge of NHS and working in clinical areasknowledge of estates maintenancecomplex fault diagnosis skills requiredable to plan and prioritise workexcellent oral and written communication skillsable to plan own workload, be flexible and prioritise tasksability to develop and work effectively in a teamself‑motivatorability to work under pressureBMS experienceutilisation of computer‑based risk and asbestos registerOtherBMS experienceutilisation of computer‑based risk and asbestos registerDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check to establish suitability for work with vulnerable people.Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation TrustSalary: £31,049 to £37,796 a year + RRP £5,000 per annum. #J-18808-Ljbffr
