You’ll play a key role in safeguarding our AWS cloud environment, ensuring our systems stay secure, resilient, and fully compliant with financial regulations.You’ll bring real-world experience with security tools, threat detection, and incident response, helping us evolve and harden our defences every day. A background in a regulated industry (like financial services) is important, as is a strong grasp of infrastructure fundamentals across networks, servers, and cloud platforms. If you’re ready to take ownership of our security posture and make a measurable impact, we’d love to have you on the team.What you will do:Operate and optimise a wide range of security platforms, including SIEM, XDR, EDR, IAM, DLP, PAM, ZTNA, and vulnerability management toolsTake ownership of the detection and response lifecycle — triaging alerts, investigating incidents, identifying root causes, and coordinating response actionsImplement and manage security controls across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments, aligning with frameworks like ISO 27001, PCI-DSSBuild and maintain clear, actionable dashboards and reports for technical and leadership teams, covering threats, vulnerabilities, incident trends, and control effectivenessKeep our documentation tight — from runbooks and playbooks to standard operating procedures (SOPs)Support internal and external audits, helping maintain evidence, reporting, and demonstrating control effectivenessDevoted to the FCA principle of Consumer Duty; by ensuring we are driving good customer outcomes across all aspects that have potential to impact our customers.What we're looking for:A solid track record working in cyber security operations, with real hands-on experienceStrong familiarity with cloud platforms — especially AWS and Azure — and applying cloud security principles in live environmentsExperience in a regulated industry, ideally financial services, with knowledge of relevant compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, PCI-DSS)Hands-on expertise with Microsoft security tools — including Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, Defender for Identity, Microsoft Purview, Taegis, Z-Scaler or equivalentsA strong infrastructure foundation — you should understand how networks, servers, and systems operate so you can secure them effectivelySolid knowledge of network architecture and protocols, including the OSI model, and how to apply layered securityExperience with vulnerability management, security assessments, and working within ITSM/ITIL frameworksA proactive mindset — you're always looking for ways to improve, automate, and enhance how security is deliveredStrong communication skills — you're confident translating technical risks into clear, actionable insights for different audiencesWhat we offer: At Intrum we offer not only a challenging and rewarding career but also:Lifestyle: A competitive salary and attractive benefits package including 33 days holidays including bank holidays upon commencement, with the ability to buy more or sell back.
