Primary Purpose The primary purpose of the Bid Solution Architect is to translate customer requirement into solutions in line with product policy, budget and timescale. Innovation and customer value proposition should be considered at all stages of the bid. A free‑thinking, innovative, creative and challenging nature is required to drive this function to provide the most cost effective yet compliant solutions. The ability to question and challenge component and building block inputs to drive costs lower is critical to this role. Principal Relationships Bid Managers Building Block Owners Capture Leads Sales and BD Product Line Managers / Product Line Architects Product Design Authority (PDA) Bid Project Managers Key Responsibilities And Tasks Provide innovative solutions Adherence to bid schedule Adherence to bid process Act as a bid team member Contribute towards PBS, WBS, schedule Essential Skills and Experience Required System Engineering / Systems Architecture Proven track record on delivery Innovative / Team Player Desirable Training and/or Simulation domain knowledge and experience. Experience of working on SFR&D, Digital Twins and/or Test and Evaluation projects. Technical leadership Bid management Values & Behaviours Focus on Customers Perform through teaming Innovation Development of processes and people Qualifications Degree in Engineering, Science or Mathematics Honours Degree in Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science would be preferred. Security Clearance Requirement Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks. In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
