Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / CAD Engineer required to join a specialist engineering manufacturer in the Midlands.Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / CAD Engineer will be an experienced engineering professional with a background in automotive, mechanical, or electro-mechanical systems. You’ll bring proven expertise in 3D CAD, applications/specification engineering, and supporting technical projects with both internal teams and external customers.Working as part of a small, close-knit engineering department, you’ll play a key role in supporting product specification, technical problem-solving, and industry projects. The role involves liaising with customers on braking and suspension systems, contributing to telematics and monitoring developments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and trade body requirements.Package:Up to £50,000 (Depending on experience)Annual bonus (equivalent to approx. 8% of salary)25 days holiday + bank holidaysPension schemeMonday to Friday, 37.5 hours per weekRoles:Produce and review 3D CAD models of components and assembliesSupport customers with braking, trailer and suspension system specificationsPerform engineering calculations for trailer designsContribute to telematics and monitoring projects (testing & validation)Liaise with trade bodies and government on compliance/regulationWork closely with quality, technical services, and wider engineering teamsRequirements:Minimum 5 years’ experience in a design or applications engineering role (automotive, mechanical, or electro-mechanical sector preferred)Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Automotive, or related Engineering disciplineProficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or similar)Strong understanding of mechanical systems; exposure to electronics/telematics advantageousExcellent problem-solving, communication, and customer-facing skillsFull UK driving licenceMust be commutable to the Midlands #J-18808-Ljbffr
