Senior Pensions Analyst.

Certain Advantage is hiring for a Senior Pensions Analyst based in London.

This role is an initial 2-year contract and is hybrid – 2 days in the office and 3 days at home.

We are working with a global energy company engaged in oil, gas, and renewable energy production, providing fuels, lubricants, and energy solutions while focusing on sustainability and innovation.

The role:

  • Integral role in overseeing the main pension administration system supplied by a 3rd party (EQ Compendia), including managing the day-to-day relationship, participating in upgrades, and providing strategic input.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and reportable events through oversight of scheduled activities.
  • Managing large volumes of sensitive data, responding to time-critical requests, and ensuring data quality, including annual events like producing pension benefit statements and valuation extracts for the Scheme actuary.
  • Serving as a key contact for major service providers, including Equiniti, Altavia, IT, and IRM, working on cross-boundary projects such as a major pension IT system upgrade while maintaining business continuity.
  • Playing an active role in user acceptance testing for data and calculation routines.
  • Key team member in London (3-person team), also supporting the wider Data, Projects, and Systems team based in Krakow (5-person team).
  • Collaborating with pension teams in Finance Operations (Krakow) to support their Data & Projects Team and working closely with Payroll and Finance Teams to ensure the seamless delivery of critical business processes.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Expectation to complete or have obtained a relevant PMI qualification, e.g., APMI/RPC.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of Defined Benefit pension schemes, with a strong understanding of UK pension legislation.
  • Minimum 5 years of pension administration experience within the organisation or another pension administration/project management organisation.
  • Proven ability to deliver User Acceptance Testing and calculation testing within challenging deadlines.
  • Experience handling large volumes of personal and sensitive data.
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining awareness of the broader strategy and objectives.
  • Experience with pension administration systems, preferably Compendia and Procentia.
