Drainage Specialist / Technical Sales Manager Metro Rod & Metro Plumb are leading providers of drain clearance and maintenance services with a 40+ year legacy. We support a wide range of clients including Equans, Amey, Aldi, Mitie, Greggs, McDonalds and Wetherspoons across FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial and Leisure sectors. About the Role Your daily tasks will involve supporting franchisees and the sales team in scoping, pricing, winning, and executing drainage projects. With a background in drainage & pumps, you will ensure every project meets and exceeds client expectations. Responsibilities Support franchisees and sales team in scoping, pricing, winning and executing drainage projects. Create technical proposals and presentations for clients. Work alongside the sales function to drive business growth and uncover opportunities. Manage projects end-to-end, from client scoping through to delivery. Travel extensively (approximately 3 days per week). Qualifications Outstanding background in drainage operations (survey, maintenance, rehabilitation, pumping systems and treatment plants). Experience in sales support, project scoping or technical consultancy. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety, compliance standards and drainage law. Hands‑on approach, willing to get involved practically where needed. Proactive, enthusiastic, solutions‑focused, with a strong drive to tackle operational challenges. Collaborative approach and motivation to learn and develop. Ability to travel extensively. Preferred Qualifications IOSH Managing Safely SMSTS Hands‑on training in patch repairs and full‑length liner installs. Confined Spaces Medium Risk OS19X Knowledge of plumbing work.
