Job Description We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Electrical Engineer to join the Egis Transport Solutions MEPHFC Design Team, focusing on our Tunnels & Highways projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working on Tunnels & Highways projects. As an Electrical Engineer you will review and produce electrical designs and work as part of a dynamic team with big ambitions. Responsibilities Support the lead electrical engineer in the preparation of HV, LV, and electrical building services designs, including design reports, technical specifications, single line diagrams, layouts, calculations, protection schemes, maximum demand assessments, load flow analysis, earthing & bonding. Develop design from feasibility up to As Built. Produce design proposals (e.g., sketches) for agreement with the client, stakeholders, subcontractors, suppliers etc. Prepare and monitor technical submittals for approval by the client. Write project communications such as Requests For Information (RFIs) & meeting minutes. Maintain trackers, registers and schedules. Carry out design reviews and work to design assurance processes. Nurture a "get it right the first time" culture within the team. Qualifications – Essential Electrical Engineering qualification. Experience in electrical building services design and coordination. Experience in an engineering production environment. Experience of multi‑disciplinary design and coordination, delivering projects to high quality throughout all design stages. Experience of producing drawings, schedules and calculations. Ability to find solutions to engineering problems. Knowledge of British Standards and Regulations. Understanding of project scopes, requirements, works information. Awareness of delivering work to a programme and budget. Effective communication and collaboration abilities. Capable of working as part of a team and on own initiative. Good understanding of electrical systems from a technical and design perspective. Experience using engineering software tools including Trimble/Amtech Pro Design, Dialux or Relux. Committed to professional development, staying updated on industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies, integrating them into project designs as appropriate. Qualifications – Desirable Degree in Electrical Engineering. Member of an engineering institute and working towards Engineering Council Professional Registration. Knowledge of design stages and requirements such as RIBA, BSRIA. Experience of producing technical notes, reports, specifications. Experience working with 3D models in a BIM environment. Understanding of relevant legislation such as CDM. Knowledge of NEC contracts and project communications. Commercial awareness. Understanding of electrical systems from an installation, buildability, and maintainability perspective. Knowledge of testing, commissioning and certification of electrical services would be beneficial. Awareness of procurement activities and lead times.
