Pay Rate: £33 per hour
Location: 53 Billing Road, Northampton, NN1 5DB
Hybrid Working: 40% in-office, rest of the time flexible

About the Role:

Northamptonshire Children's Trust is seeking a Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Youth Justice Team. This is an exciting opportunity to support vulnerable children aged 10-18 who are involved in the youth justice system. As a member of our team, you will be working with children who have committed offences and are subject to Youth Justice involvement via court orders, bail, or remand. You will be responsible for managing a caseload, completing Youth Justice assessments, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the children in your care.

Key Responsibilities:

Caseload Management: Hold a caseload of children (10-18) involved in the youth justice system, ensuring their needs are met and that risk, safety, and wellbeing concerns are addressed effectively.
Youth Justice Assessments: Complete Youth Justice assessments and manage risk associated with offending behaviour.
Court Representation: Attend court hearings and represent the service, ensuring the needs of the children are accurately conveyed.
Asset Plus Assessments: Complete Asset Plus assessments to help inform court decisions and risk management strategies.
Risk Management: Accurately assess and respond to any risks related to offending, safety, and wellbeing.
Referral Order Panels & Meetings: Provide updates and participate in meetings and panels, including Referral Order panels, to ensure the child's progress is reviewed appropriately.
Travel Requirements: You will be required to travel across Northamptonshire and potentially to locations outside the county for placements or custodial visits. The role requires flexibility and a proactive approach to working with children across a broad geographical area.Essential Requirements:

Experience & Knowledge: A deep understanding of offending behaviour in children and youth justice legislation. Experience working with children and young people in the criminal justice system is highly desirable.
Qualified Social Worker: You must hold a Social Work Qualification (Degree or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England (SWE).
Driving License & Vehicle: A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential due to the travel requirements of the role.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear and accurate reports and assessments.
Court Experience: Experience in attending court and representing social work services is highly desirable.What We Offer:
