Facilities Operations Engineer Join to apply for the Facilities Operations Engineer role at GEDU Global Education. Department: Facilities Location: Leeds Type of Contract: Permanent About Us GEDU Global Education (GBS) provides sector‑relevant courses across ten campuses in London, Birmingham, Leeds, and Manchester, partnering with leading higher education providers to deliver vocational, undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes in finance, accounting, business, construction, tourism, healthcare, and more. The Role The Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer will maintain, install, and refurbish fabric and equipment across the GBS UK estates portfolio. They will monitor the condition of GBS buildings, undertake repairs and renovations, conduct refurbishment projects, and travel to other UK campuses as required. The role demands flexible working to accommodate business operations, covering campus operating hours from Monday to Sunday, 7:00 am to 9:30 pm. What The Role Involves Preventative and reactive maintenance Building and equipment maintenance Health, safety, and compliance Documentation and inventory management Refurbishment and fit‑out projects Travel and flexibility Experience and Skills Required 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations, or equivalent NVQ, or demonstrable experience to the same standard Previous experience in building maintenance including M&E systems Manual skills, knowledge of refurbishment techniques Flexible and proactive work attitude with a “can‑do” mindset Familiarity with COSHH requirements for equipment and chemicals Interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of the facilities team Full, clean driving licence What We Offer 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays 1‑day extra leave per year of service, up to a maximum of 5 days Workplace pension scheme Tuition reimbursement for career development courses Flexible benefits: Cycle to Work, Workplace Nursery, Techscheme and more Perks@Work discounts, wellbeing centre and more Reward and recognition programme £500 award for employee referral scheme Discretionary annual performance bonus “GBS has been a good place for professional growth.
