About the Team Lambeth Local Authority is looking to recruit a Principal Education, Health & Care Plan Co‑ordinator to join a friendly and supportive team to deliver an exceptional service in the execution of the Local Authority’s SEN statutory responsibilities as set out in the Children and Families Act 2014. Lambeth’s cooperative structure aims to strengthen the involvement of local people in the services they receive in partnership with all local providers. Therefore, the Borough has a key responsibility to ensure that there is good quality support for all its learners, parents /carers. About the Role Write EHC Plans. Coordinate assessments and casework across the SEND Service, ensuring that casework is legally compliant whilst remaining child‑centred, pro‑active and responsive to the needs of children and young people and paying due regard to the views of parents. Coordinate and actively support a person‑centred, outcome‑focused multi‑agency approach to assessment, planning and support, ensuring that children, young people and parents are treated as equal partners in the assessment and planning process. Guide settings and parents to the right provision at SEN Support level, directing them to the Local Offer to find more information on the services available. Support settings and parents to provide the right information if an EHC needs assessment request is made. Coordinate the 20‑week process, liaising with settings, parents and other professionals. Attend EHC plan review meetings, at critical points such as change in phase of education. Support settings and families with phase transfer. Chair and attend annual reviews where there is a high risk of placement breakdown or a complex case within the targeted age groups. Provide information and support around the Local Offer and stay up to date with the Local Offer itself. Qualifications Excellent understanding of the context in which SEN works in schools. Excellent understanding of the Children and Families Act, particularly the new personalised statutory assessment framework. Excellent communication skills. Resilience. Background Checks Successful candidates will be asked to apply for an Enhanced Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). You will also be required to undertake a Cifas check.
