Join SubSea Craft Limited as an Electrical Test Engineer.SubSea Craft is a fast-growing, privately-funded, UK-based innovative maritime technology company specializing in next-generation, high-performance watercraft and systems.What We OfferPrivate Healthcare with optional family coverLife Assurance (4 x salary)Critical Illness CoverUnlimited Paid HolidayOngoing professional development and trainingAccess to LinkedIn LearningPension contributionFlexible WorkingA culture of diversity and innovative thinkingThe RoleWe are looking for an Electrical Test Engineer to drive forward the development of world-leading advanced maritime technology.Responsibilities Will IncludeTest System Design and Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test requirements are clearly defined and documented.Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures to ensure electrical systems meet design specifications and performance requirements.Design and layout of electrical test systems, including power distribution, wiring harnesses, control modules, motor controllers, PLC controls.Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations in all aspects of electrical test.Prototyping And TestingDevelop prototypes of electrical systems and components for validation and testing purposes.Assembly of electrical testing systems and software integration.Validate electrical designs through testing, ensuring that designs meet functional, performance, and safety requirements.Identify, analyze, and resolve electrical system issues.Documentation And ReportingCreate and maintain detailed test documentation, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical reports related to electrical test.Create and maintain risk assessments, method statements, and HV safety documentation.Manage and maintain test equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functional.Responsible for subsystem and system-level testing projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.Qualifications And ExperienceElectrical / Mechatronics engineering qualifications to degree level or a minimum of 3 years industry experience with an apprenticeship qualification.Experience of electrical test, development, commissioning, and reporting.Professional registration (e.g., CEng) or progression towards is advantageous.Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD or similar).Experience working with 3D CAD systems is advantageous but not critical.Experience in electrical build with high voltage systems (up to 1000V) would be advantageous.Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN.Experience with simulation and analysis tools for electrical systems.Knowledge of electric vehicle architectures, power electronics, and battery management systems would be advantageous.Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electric vehicles.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Prior experience in electric vehicle design or automotive electronics is a plus.Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position.We are committed to building an inclusive, diverse workplace where everyone can thrive.
