Cost Consultant OR PQS

Salary: £70,000 - £85,000 plus package

Investment Developer who specialise in the provision of PBSA and BTR developments urgently require a Cost Consultant or Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) to join their busy team in the delivery of PBSA and BTR schemes throughout the UK.

The company is a renowned specialist in PBSA and BTR. They have large backing and the ability to buy any site providing the numbers work. They have a contracting arm to the business although the investment arm is not forced to use this unless they are competitive. They have a track record in delivering PBSA and BTR schemes Nationwide and are a recognised name in these areas and many other areas of construction, infrastructure and investment.

The role is to cost manage main contractors who tender to complete the building works for these schemes. This is why it is imperative to have Consultancy or cost management experience where you have already experienced these responsibilities of cost managing main contractors who build out the schemes. It is important you have experience of pre-construction, front end, managing cost consultants, appraising and high level cost plans.

There will also be basic drawings to analyse and advise on, appraise, collate on the contract and procure requirements where necessary. Most contracts are JCT design & build contracts although there will be bespoke contracts in addition.

Each project will be turnkey all rooms have furniture and are fully fitted. Schemes will be of between £30m – £50m value.

The ideal person will have cost consultancy experience, it is imperative you have managed main contractors from a cost view, you will be keen, knowledgeable and able to flip to client side from consultancy if you have not yet achieved client side experience.
