The Role of the Mechanical Design Engineer: The Mechanical Design Engineer will support upcoming and live engineering projects, working alongside the wider engineering team to deliver high–quality designs, documentation, and technical solutions. Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer: Produce 3D and 2D designs using SolidWorks (preferred) and AutoCAD Design new equipment and improve existing machinery and systems Update drawings, assemblies, and layouts as projects evolve Prepare technical documentation: reports, manuals, specifications Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, compliance and project teams Support technical problem–solving across machinery and equipment Ensure designs meet all quality, safety, and regulatory requirements Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer: HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualifications At least 3 years experience in design or manufacturing engineering Experience with machinery, pipework, assemblies, or similar equipment Competent in 3D CAD ideally SolidWorks Project management experience Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently Interest in global projects, travel opportunities, and long–term development Benefits of the Mechanical Design Engineer: Bupa Private Healthcare Excellent Pension Scheme 4% employee and 7% company contribution Electric Car Scheme Mental Health Support First Aid Support & Training 25 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays This role is ideal for someone who: Wants to join a growing, forward–thinking engineering business Enjoys varied project work with global exposure Wants access to excellent training and supported development Is excited by the move to a modern, state–of–the–art facility Is ambitious and looking to grow into a senior role Find out more about our available opportunities or how I can help you further your career contact me today.
