Hackajob is collaborating with Vitality to connect them with exceptional tech professionals for the role of Principal Test Engineer. Role Overview As a Principal Test Engineer at Vitality, you will lead and plan testing across large or multiple teams, providing expertise in many technical areas and designing test automation frameworks. You will influence internal and external stakeholders, uphold testing standards, and mentor junior engineers. Working Pattern Hybrid – 2 days per week in the London office. Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week. Key Responsibilities Implement the software test life cycle – analysis, design, estimation, planning, execution, defect management, reporting. Act as expert in core testing practices and provide technical management and guidance. Adhere to and champion the group test strategy and modern test engineering standards. Engage stakeholders – project managers, UX designers, solution architects, developers, analysts, product owners, and senior management – to understand requirements and ensure integration across journeys. Build and transfer skills – develop personal expertise, coach test engineers, and build a competent team. Collaborate within and across teams to achieve results. Required Qualifications 7+ years of automation testing experience. Deep knowledge of automated testing frameworks. Proven ability to lead test teams and mentor junior engineers. Experience defining test strategies and driving quality initiatives across teams. Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders.
