We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team at Ivetsey Bank Hospital, a Tier 4 CAMHS service providing specialist inpatient care for young people aged 12-17 with complex mental health needs.About the RoleAs our Occupational Therapy Assistant, you\'ll work closely with the Occupational Therapists and wider therapy and nursing teams to support the development and delivery of therapeutic interventions and groups for our young people. You\'ll play a vital role in helping them develop daily living skills, improve their confidence, and engage in meaningful occupations during their recovery.What you\'ll be workingThis is a full-time role 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.What you\'ll be doingSupport the planning and delivery of individual and group-based therapeutic activitiesEncourage participation in self-care, leisure, education, and vocational tasksAssist in assessing functional skills and documenting progressSupport the maintenance of therapy equipment and resourcesWork collaboratively with young people, families, and the wider MDTKeep people safe from any harm and protect their human rightsWhat you\'ll haveExperience working with children or young people, ideally in a mental health or education settingA full UK driving licence and willingness to drive company vehicles is essentialA caring, empathetic approach with strong communication skillsAbility to work flexibly and effectively as part of a teamBasic understanding of Occupational Therapy or willingness to learnNVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essentialSuccessful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBSWe also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions.
