Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Binnies' geotechnical team continues to grow due to ongoing successes in tendering. As we enter the next water regulatory period (AMP8), we will provide geotechnical input for most UK water companies, focusing on storm spill reduction and supporting the development of new reservoirs to safeguard future drinking water supplies.Our work also includes supporting the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and the Canals and River Trust.We are expanding our services to include more advanced geotechnical solutions and complex designs, such as temporary works. This offers our staff opportunities to learn new skills and be involved in new projects, especially as many schemes are design and build, allowing us to see our designs come to life.These Senior Engineer roles involve supporting junior colleagues and both originating and reviewing designs.About the Role:Checking the work of junior staffDesigning a range of geotechnical engineering solutionsDesign and supervision of ground investigationsInterpreting ground investigation resultsPreparing geological sections and drawingsConducting site visitsYou should demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, and knowledge:Masters degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering (preferred)Chartered status with ICE or IoM3 (desirable)Full UK driving license for site visitsAdditional skills include:Ability to work remotelyExperience working in multidisciplinary teams with stakeholders and contractorsProactive problem-solving skillsSuccessful planning and organization skillsA passion for engineeringIf you want to work in a supportive environment that values growth, diversity, and work-life balance, Binnies is the place for you.
