About the role Start date: ASAP (subject to pre‑start checks) Contract term: Permanent Working hours: 15 hours per week (3:00pm‑6:00pm Mon‑Fri) Weeks per year: School term‑time and Trust Training Days, excluding INSET days Grade: 4 Salary range (per annum): Support staff salary points 4 – 5. Full Time Equivalent: £25,185 to £25,583. Pro rata: £8,558 to £8,693. Location: Twynham Primary School Reports to: Headteacher About the Post Our Childcare Worker will provide high quality childcare for the children of Twynham Primary School within the breakfast club. We aim to strike a balance for our children of fun activities coupled with tasks which are productive/educational. We need a childcare worker who is just as confident leading a parachute game as they are helping children with their homework We aim to offer an after‑school club provision that is valued and trusted by the community of parents/carers of Twynham Primary School. This is an opportunity to work with wonderful children in our new purpose‑built school‑based facility, alongside a team of childcare workers who are professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The working hours could suit individuals who prefer to work during term times only. We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to: Assist the Headteacher in providing a safe, secure, and stimulating learning environment Be a member of a team providing high‑quality childcare provision. Adapt activities for individual children and groups of children. Contribute to the planning and delivery of activities/a curriculum, which leads towards the meeting of agreed objectives and targets. Encourage children to be engaged in a variety of productive activities. Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies. Are committed to undertaking further training or development as required. Have a secure knowledge of child development and ways in which children can be encouraged to learn. Have the ability to establish good relationships with children, parents and other staff, communicating clearly and sensitively. Have awareness of the need for confidentiality. Can work co‑operatively with the staff team and with parents to share knowledge and expertise for the benefit of the children. Be committed to the principles of equality of opportunity for all.
