An energetic, confident and friendly receptionist is required to join our happy, hardworking and successful GP practiceWe are looking for candidates with previous NHS Primary Care & EMIS experience, good communication skills and the ability to multi-task.The role includes both front desk and back office duties.Hours by mutual agreement to be part of a team of six staff covering 0745 to 1830, Monday to Friday.Main duties of the jobReceive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.Carry out administrative tasks relating to patient records, including filing, document management and ensuring patients can access reports, prescriptions and that they are easily accessible.Give administrative support to the clinicians, practice manager and reception manager where appropriate and as requested.Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.Follow practice protocols to ensure consistent and high quality care is provided to our patients.About usWe have 3 GP Partners and a loyal team working to provide high quality patient care.We are a Training practice for undergraduates, GPs and nurses, and are active in our PCN and Federation.Our CQC rating is Good.There are excellent transport links, including Kings Cross-St Pancras and Euston mainline train stations, Farringdon and Angel tube station within a mile of the practice.Job responsibilitiesTo have a thorough knowledge of all practice proceduresTo work in accordance of written protocolsScan incoming post and other documents for electronic filing of clinical correspondenceAction third party requests for medical records in accordance with practice protocolPrepare and open up practice at start of day when on early dutyGreet & receive patients, consulting with members of practice teamCheck patients in on arrival using the practice computer system (EMIS) or direct them to self-check in.Oversee the reception area in such a way that ensures all patients are seen in turnDeal with prescriptionsBe able to cover all reception tasks as necessaryClose and secure practice at end of day when on late dutyProcess appointment requests for today/future appointments from patients by telephone and in person using the practice computer system (EMIS)Registrations of new regular patients and temporary patients computer data entry and medical recordsMaintain working knowledge of telephone systemAnswer telephone calls to the practice dealing with enquiries, fielding calls where appropriate or taking messages using the practice electronic message bookSort and date stamp all incoming patient-related mailScan patient-related documents onto medical records using read codes as agreed by the clinical teamForward relevant documents to the doctor or nurseEnsure incoming letters are scanned onto the patient recordScan all internal paper documents on to the relevant patients record and then store the documents in line with practice procedurePerson SpecificationQualificationsEducated to GSCE ordinary level (or equivalent)ExperienceMinimum three years work experience or college/university leaver without three years work experienceExperience of working in a public reception environmentExperience of dealing with the public/patientsDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
