Flexible working patterns are offered, including job share. The Monitoring Data & Systems Team (MDS) manages important environmental monitoring systems and datasets. As a Technical Advisor you will support Water Quality systems and data, and other systems as needed. Responsibilities Managing user accounts and troubleshooting issues, especially with the new My Environment application. Updating, improving and maintaining datasets. Responding to internal and external data requests. Supporting system improvement and upgrade projects. Team: The MDS team in Instrument and Systems provides support to the business by maintaining important environmental monitoring systems for Water Quality, Fish, Biology, Ecology, and Water Quantity. We are a friendly, dispersed team of enthusiastic specialists. Experience/Skills Required Experience with large complex datasets. Willingness to develop and learn new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data and systems. Motivated, organised, friendly, helpful, detail‑oriented, comfortable working in a dispersed team. Proactive problem solver. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, deliver through others and provide excellent customer service. Desirable Experience/Skills Experience using and managing environmental monitoring data systems. Experience with PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online and R. Working knowledge of water quality monitoring. Work Location Location is flexible but requires a base at one of our offices across England and presence there. Hybrid home/office working is offered; some travel is expected. Interview Details Interviews will be conducted via MS Teams towards the end of December / Beginning of Jan.
