Trainee Pharmacy Dispenser - North Shields Extra Location: Tesco North Shields, England, United Kingdom Pay: Starts at £12.87 per hour, £14.08 inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week; if you wish to work fewer hours (minimum 12) we also welcome you to apply. Availability windows: Mon: 12:00 – 21:00 Tue: 09:00 – 15:00 Sat: 09:00 – 18:00 We will schedule your contracted hours within these times and provide three‑week notice of your shifts. If your personal availability closely matches our windows, we will still consider your application. Responsibilities Support the operation of our modern pharmacy. Accurately dispense medication using technical skills and strong customer focus. Dispense prescription medicines with attention to detail and accuracy at all times. Communicate confidently, friendly and professionally with customers, offering information about medicines, vaccinations, and other services. Provide appropriate information on common ailments, symptoms and products, and only recommend suitable items. Advise customers on the range of pharmacy services available. Support and deliver pharmacy services and the dispensing process in accordance with standard operating procedures. Assess the legal appropriateness of dispensed prescriptions. Handle clinical and legal queries from healthcare practitioners within your area of competence. Respond to customer queries related to prescription medicines and inform the pharmacist of any complaints. Ensure all dispensary routines and standard operating procedures are followed. Keep dispensary and consulting rooms clean, tidy and free of clutter. Ensure all prescription administrations are accurate and completed on time. Promote company initiatives within the team. Carry out all procedures accurately to protect profit and trade safely and legally. Complete corporate and departmental training. Keep up to date with legal and professional developments in pharmacy. Qualifications Experience gained from working in a pharmacy environment. A desire to train and develop in the pharmacy field.
