Clinical Practitioner – Leigh Urgent Treatment Centre (Walk‑in Centre) We are seeking an experienced clinical practitioner (nurse or AHP) to join our team at Leigh Urgent Treatment Centre. The position is a fixed‑term contract (ending January 2027 or when the substantive postholder returns) that may become permanent. Service Operational Hours WIC – 7:00 am – 9:15 pm Service operates 7 days per week, 365 days per year Key Responsibilities Assess, diagnose, and manage a diverse caseload of minor injury and minor illness. Request and interpret a range of investigations. Recognise and respond to urgent and emergency situations quickly. Lead the team and provide clinical supervision and advice to developing clinicians. Liaise with other teams within the wider hospital network. Cascade informal teaching within the unit and offer suggestions for innovative pathways to drive service improvement. Participate in regular training and supervision provided by the ACP team. Qualifications & Experience Registered practitioner with significant clinical experience, preferably within A&E, walk‑in centre or primary care. Highly motivated and committed to continuing professional development. Experience in assessing and managing minor injury and illness, and in recognising urgent cases. Ability to work effectively under pressure and to influence positive change. NHS employees should secure their manager's agreement for a secondment arrangement prior to applying, as this is a condition of any offer.
