OverviewEvent & Hospitality Manager (Maternity Cover) – London. A summer short-term contract available and/or extending to Maternity cover. Salary £40,000 - £44,000, negotiable based on experience.Join Houston & Hawkes, a young and dynamic independent caterer based in the South East, to manage daily operations at a busy event & hospitality venue in a central London location.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for managing the daily operations of a busy event & hospitality venuePlan, lead and deliver exceptional customer serviceCreate a culture of service and teamworkDrive the guest experience to build customer loyalty and increase salesHold daily briefings with the team to engage them on key messages and encourage discussionEnsure we meet the standards required by the clientEnsure a 5* service is always deliveredMotivate and lead by example, ensuring you and your team are proud of your effortsSeek opportunities to exceed customer and client expectations and increase salesAssist with preparation and presentation of food to the company’s standard and ensure adherence to legislation including HACCPMonitor compliance with company and government regulations regarding customer service, food preparation and servingEnsure all financial and administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures, including banking reconciliation and till operationsAssist the compilation and delivery of management reports in Word, ExcelDay-to-day management of the ordering process and stock controlWorking knowledge of HACCP & Health & Safety lawsRequirementsPrevious experience with high-volume events and corporate hospitalityOrganisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlinesPositive attitude, professionalism and respect for othersPassion for food, coffee and customer serviceAbility to work within a team and without supervisionExcellent team player with ability to communicate at all levels and share knowledgeStrong leadership and communication skillsComputer literate with experience in ExcelStrong financial understanding and budgeting managementExperience with report writing and financial managementCreativity and a flair for marketingAdditional BenefitsContributory pension schemeFree access to the company Employee Assistance ProgrammeLife assuranceCompany events including Christmas and summer partiesRecognition schemes and people awardsFamily-friendly supportUniform providedHoliday allowance of 25 days plus bank holidaysFree meals at workMembership of CODE exclusively for Hospitality ProfessionalsAbout Houston & HawkesHouston & Hawkes – a young and dynamic independent caterer based in the South East.
