This is your chance to tile your skills into a supportive and fast-paced environment where your work truly makes a splash About the Role The main function of the Finance Assistant role is to provide support to the finance department. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this involves ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and records, thereby contributing significantly to the efficient operation of the wider business. What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities) Executing bank reconciliations accurately and promptly, ensuring every penny is in the right place. Managing the processing of customer refunds and ensuring compliance with established company policy. Performing sales ledger reconciliations to keep our accounts receivable sparkling clean. Assisting the wider finance team in the preparation for the vital month-end close process. Preparing and posting essential journal entries as directed by the Management Accountant or Group Financial Controller. Supporting the Management Accountant and wider team with ad-hoc financial and administrative tasks as required. Working Pattern (Hours & Flexibility) Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day). Start Time: Flexible start times between 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM. Office Presence: On-site, remaining until 17:00 (5:00 PM) 2-3 days per week to support Customer Services and Trade departments. Do You Have the 'BATH' Factor? (Skills & Experience) Proven experience working within a busy finance department. Solid understanding of basic accounting principles. Demonstrable experience with bank and ledger reconciliations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience preparing and posting journals is highly desirable. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to a high level of accuracy. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
